SI-first unit conversion + dimensional checks (runs locally in your browser)
Examples:
Convert 670 MPa to kN/mm^2 (5*kN/m^2) * (2.5*m^2) -> kN Convert 32 degF to degC Convert 1 bar to kPa Convert 10 N*m to kN*m
Ready.
v0.2 adds Convert … to … parsing and dimensional autocomplete. Next step to make the database huge: import the UCUM unit definitions and synonyms (see notes in JS).

Tank Lifting Analysis Tool

Calculate reaction forces, validate eave angle, and check wall thickness at hoisting points

Assumption: Center of gravity is assumed to be at the center of the tank.

Load Path and Weight Distribution

Which weights are used for evaluating each component:

  • Cables: Total weight (Shell + Roof) - Cables lift the entire tank assembly
  • Lift Lugs: Total weight (Shell + Roof) - Lugs transfer cable loads to eave angle
  • Lug-to-Eave Angle Bolts: Total weight (Shell + Roof) - These bolts connect lugs to eave angle
  • Eave Angle: Total weight (Shell + Roof) - Eave angle receives total load from lugs and distributes it
  • Tank Wall: Shell weight only - Wall only supports the shell; roof weight goes through eave angle to rafters
  • Wall-to-Eave Angle Bolts: Shell weight only - These bolts connect tank wall to eave angle
  • Rafter-to-Eave Angle Bolts: Roof weight only - These bolts connect roof rafters to eave angle

Note: Steel sheets between rafters are not considered as structural elements and do not contribute to the load path. Shell weight includes accessories mounted on the wall. Roof weight includes accessories mounted on the roof.
